Post subject: Lebanon, Israel and Saudi Arabia PostPosted: Sun Jul 16, 2006 7:49 pm Align post text to the left Align post text to the right

The 'breaking news headline' on Aljazeera reads "two attacks on the Zahrani region and an attack on an electricity plant in Saida"

To be honest since the battle began my household has been glued to Aljazeera watching all the horrific events. Wanting a break I go to my room to go watch a tennis match i've been waiting for. I turn on the t.v and its on FOX news. "In self defense Israelis are now attacking terrorist locations all over Lebanon." says a guest that they are interviewing. Angry, I come back downstairs to have a conversation with my mother about what I just heard (just two more hours of Aljazeera and I swear they are going to make her an honorary reporter)

And thats when she tells me "A Saudi Arabian release blamed Lebanon for the tension"

WHAT?

Was'nt that just the cherry ontop of everything.. Saudi Arabia 'Blaming' Lebanon, as if smacking a disobedient child, and shaking a finger hissing ' I told you so!!'. What can you expect from a state that is a (censored) to the U.S. (as all Gulf States)... The Middle East is an embarassment, huffing and puffing in their useless Arab League, demanding the destruction of 'The Zionist Entity' but when shit hit the fan.... they sit and twiddle their thumbs. What's even better is that Iran, non-Arab, is planning on defending Syria if Israel should touch it. Wain masr, al-ordon, al-yemen, Qatar, etc. etc. Wain kom? As always... Silence

Yup,that's what we Arabs excel at: blaming, criticizing & philosophizing behind closed doors.

Ha,Israel mustve been planning this for long n was waiting for a pretext(abductions in this case) to start a war in the name of " Defense Against Terrorists"

May Allah yakhsif be Israel wa yinsur Al Arab wa Al Musleemin.

You know,I feel starngely detached from it all.
As do most Sudanese in Sudan.Yes it's sad,terrible,etc. etc.lakin I don't know,shrug.
I'm thinking most of the Arab world feels the same.
Truth is I don't really relate in terms of conflicts with Arab nations, just as they don't relate to ours.
Which is sad really.
But hey,we have our own problems.

Heck,Im just happy someone took a shot at Israel. On the other hand,my Lebanese friend, whose ill mom n brother had to flee their house n hide in a school,is all up against Hezbollah n their playing with fire and putting a whole nation in jeapordy.
I don't know what is right anymore-Should I be glad that some ppl, even if they were soi d'isant terrorists, provoked our no 1 foes n stood up to them albeit endangering the lives of the majority or should I advocate the cowardice & silence of the Arabs n the West's(US & Israel in particular) ongoing imperialism & dominance in order to attain peace of mind cuz messin with the bigger fish is hell on earth?

US and other embassys already evacuated about half the quantity, but Sudan's good there for renewing passport. I have relatives in Beirut, inshaAllah they'll be safe. Miss D. I am not surprised since G.W. said HezboAllah takes the blame. Did you see the recent G8 meeting? Shirak said it's a 2 way war, so whoever fired first [Israelis] are the ones responsible to stop. FOX News is sickly managed by Jews and republicans, same views [all I keep hearing, 8 Israeli soldiers down, 2 abducted]; they got what they deserve. How many Lebanese civilians are dead due to bombing? more than 20 I last checked.

Concerning the US's reaction to all of this, it is double standard in action.I haven't seen the meeting but I heard what Kofi n Tony said n I thought it was all BS,as usual!!!!

When you see people demonstrating in the streets of Khartoum and read all these annoyed headlines in the local news paper you will defiantly think to your self that Israel air force must have dropped missiles in Khartoum.

Arabs countries and especially Lebanon never gave a damn about Sudan when the civil war was revolving, we had millions of people died in the civil war, probably more than what the Palestine’s have had throughout their prolonged war with Israeli.

From my point of view, Sudanese people have unjustified sympathy toward Arabs, I just wanted to remained people that Lebanon stood strongly against the application of Sudan to join the Arabian union and their prime minister said bluntly that Sudanese are not Arabs and therefore shouldn’t be a member in the Arabian union.

So why do care about people who never care about us.

To be honest, I don’t care neither about Palestine nor Lebanon, further more I wish that Israel will manage to wipe out those Islamic terrorists such as Hamas & Jihad and more important Hizb Alah.

But on the other hand, killing civilians is totally unacceptable, Israelis should direct their attacks toward Hamas & Hizib allah bases.

Ferfer, you do have a point and with all due respect to Lebanon, I am not a fan of the Lebanese ppl either. However, the current war is just a fresh reminder of how screwed up the situation is in the Arab world with special emphasis on Sudan,Iraq n Palestine.I dunno,Im just depressed about  what the world has come to.

You know what,I could care less about Lebanon or Lebanese.
Like I said,I feel detached.
But.......
This is another indicator of where the world is heading.
Geo-politics.
It's not about Hizbullah,or Hamas or terrorists.
I know folks detained in prisons on cahrges of terrorism right now , who have never touched a Quran in their lives.
It's about land, religion, oil and troubelsome regions.
So while I don't think we should chip in,I do think we should sleep with one eye open.
Sudan is on the list.
Not beacuse of the 'Islamic' goverment.
But beacuse of our location, resources and again location.
It's the gateway to and from the Arab world and 'Black' Africa.
Fact.
Control over this gateway is of utmost importance[to many parties].
So if you think we can just cruise by unnoticed and it'll all be good, you're mistaken my freind.
Lebanon is about as secular as you can get, excluding Hizbullah.
It didn't stop them from getting bombed the hell out.
Soldiers have a saying I love;
Al kheir yakhos wal shar ya3om.
Secularism will not exclude us from being attacked at one point or another.
Lebanon,Syria hell Iraq were all secular.
I'm watching carefully.
We could be next.
We have our own problems.
But still......

7,we are definitely on the "Most Wanted" list.I agree with you but, heck, this is colonialism all over again n no one is doing anything about it.That's why we,the Arabs, are still moving backwards cuz we care less about what happens to each other+governmental corruption.Neways,at the moment, the only country I have respect for in the Arab/Muslim world albeit its fundamentalism & radicalism is Iran for sticking to its nuclear program n not succumbing to the West's pressure.

Wallahu Aalam

to me, Hamas is a terrosit group because its managing to hurt innocent civilians in israel, even though people might not be a big fan of israel but the Israeli people are still humanbeings, and some innocent israelis are being hurt in the process,

Israel's goverment (not the people) to me are also terrosists because they are also hurting innocent civilians.
